Trust

God has a funny way of speaking to us! Last night he used a friend’s facebook status to bring something to my attention. Who ever said facebook is a distraction?

A friend posted that she just needed to “Let it go”. As I was praying for her I realized that I too needed to let something go. Since we first had our sticker shock reaction at the amount of money we needed to raise before we can go to serve in Honduras (about 4,700/month in pledges and $15,000 cash) I have been worrying my life away!

For those that don’t know or who have asked about when we’ll leave and what we’ll need to do before we can go here is an update. We need to have 30% of the total amount of support pledged and received for at least 3 months before we can go full-time with WGM. This means that once we meet this mark we can quit our jobs and focus full-time on support/training which will include speaking with churches and small groups. This kind of interaction is limited right now because we can’t travel due to our jobs.

I have prayed about it constantly but I’ve had such trouble just giving it completely to God. I know God is big and that He can do anything, but I still doubted. Last night I realized what an insult that is to Him and truly how unjustified my worry is! He has always worked things out perfectly and I KNOW that He will in this as well! I imagine that it will be a struggle to leave it permanently in God’s hands, but I am going to fight much harder to do so! It’s so freeing to know that the support will come in when it’s supposed to and that all of my worrying was/is futile!

Right now we’re currently receiving 7% of our recurring support and have about 12% in pledges! We praise God that He is working in hearts and lives and is instilling in them a desire to serve these children just as He has in our own! Please pray for trust and surrender on our parts to not want to control everything. We will be there when He has planned for us to be and until then we will serve Him here!
