Celebration

A couple of weeks ago I had the great privilege of attending World Gospel Mission’s 100 Year celebration. It was an AMAZING event and I’m so glad that I was able to attend. It’s incredible to see a small example of the lives that have been touched by missionaries, really by God, over their past 100 years of service. There were missionaries from Japan, India, Kenya, of course Honduras and SO many more! They were from literally all over the world and the other amazing thing is that there were lots of nationals there too! It was wonderful to get to hear the stories of how people’s lives had been impacted by each person that has served throughout the world. How incredible that God can use us, despite our MANY faults to reach people.
I had an incredible time meeting all of the missionaries and people from Honduras! They were SO welcoming and I think that I spoke more Spanish that weekend than I did English-which I desperately need! I love the Latin culture and the way they open up their arms and hearts and just make you feel welcome and it was very much demonstrated to me when I was up there by myself (Justin had to remain in Bowling Green for work). I even met a really neat couple from Honduras that are going to be missionaries in a restricted area… incredible! They have already raised the funds and just have a little while left before they head over there! One thing that really struck me while talking with them was that they have often felt discriminated against while in the states. It saddened me greatly to realize how much hatred can be shown to someone solely based on their ethnicity. We’re all made in the image of God and are called to love each other as such and it was very eyeopening to see this from a friend’s point of view.
While there at the celebration I attended two seminars and one in particular really impacted me. I think I’ll share about it on the next blog post so look for that in the next week or so! Please continue to pray for our ministry and the children there and that God will continue to open people’s hearts for this ministry!
¡Dios les bendiga!
